ExS has designed terraced houses with saddle roof for the first time. Due to regulations, ExS expanded their range of design to explore architecture with a traditional roof and as surface for photovoltaic panels.
The peculiarities of the oval plot urged for a special design with no front or back side. The interior and exterior are in a continuous dialogue while both landscape and building create a spiral that finds its climax in a central atrium.
Veldhuis offers a variety and flexibility in living and working based on the "three zones" concept on the ground floor: the work or hobby area, the facilities (kitchen, wc, storage) and the main living area. “Triko” is a tile designed by ExS and manufactured by Greenwall. Triko tile was originally designed for all the parking places in Kissamos bay 10,5 km project.
The current project questions the rigidity of traditional brick facades. Keeping in mind advancements in computer aided designand newly developed robotic construction techniques, we have attempted to generate a surface by using a very traditional building material in a highly contemporary manner.
Wallpot combines urban horticulture with architecture. It is a structural material, a flower pot, a passive cooling coating, or all of these together.
It is a house with a greenhouse in the middle, that can easily transform into two houses in the future. Or…the oposite: two houses built together with common or divided greenhouse that have a lot of possibilities for transformations and expansions in the future.
The project is a study on the vicinity and privacy of different families living in intense density in an urban plot. The different types of apartments emerge in a U-shape volume around a common greenhouse.
The project is a study on the optimal privacy, togetherness and terms of coextistance of two young sisters. Flexible space is created to cover the range of possibilities in future life of the two 22 year old sisters, though greek culture on building a house directs building for a lifetime.
Ex-Box is a wooden super-eco shelter, that inside and outside have blurred borders. It is designed as a 6,50X6,50X6,50 box, exploded to smaller horizontal and perpendicular platforms, in order to get light and proper ventilation.
The trellis was originally designed for a garden in Waalre, the Netherlands as a morphing of modern and art-deco. It can be reproduced to fit any space.

This is a proposed strategy for bringing together people with innovative and socially beneficial ideas, property owners and domestic financial investors, in order to re-fill and re-feed Athens centre according to people's choices. Although spontaneous public participation is easily stimulated in the turbulent situation of contemporary Athens, it is a rather big challenge to sustain longer-term people engagement.
Most of the biological processes occur in the upper layers of the soil. However, in the urban environment the non-permeable surfaces covering the surface of the earth have caused a significant disturbance of the natural cycles.
